Example procedure for a complete package - simple and transparent

Phase 1: Free preliminary test the desired services for writers

The first step towards your professional book is very simple and completely non-binding. You provide us with your manuscript in any common format - whether Word, OpenOffice, PDF or any other text format does not matter.

At the same time, let us know your ideas, wishes and goals: What kind of book would you like to publish? Which target group are you aiming for? Are there any special formatting requirements or design preferences? Our team of experts will then carry out a comprehensive, free manuscript analysis. We not only check the scope and technical quality of your text, but also get an initial overview of the content. We analyse the structure, composition and linguistic quality and identify possible challenges or special features of your project.

Once this analysis has been completed, you will receive the detailed analysis results from us together with a transparent fixed-price offer.

Right from the start, you know exactly what investment you will be making and what services you will receive in return. So you can take your time to decide whether you want to work with us.

Phase 2: Manuscript preparation (7 working days)

As soon as you have decided to work with us, the intensive editing phase of your manuscript begins. This phase usually lasts seven working days and includes a complete professional revision of your text.

First, your manuscript goes through scribigo's innovative Textbuddy - an intelligent analysis and optimisation tool that puts your text through its paces. Textbuddy identifies weaknesses in style, readability, sentence structure and expression. It recognises filler words, overlong sentences, repetitions and stylistic inconsistencies. This automated first revision forms the basis for the subsequent human fine-tuning.

The next step is for scribigo's experienced team of experts to take over. Professional editors and proofreaders work hand in hand on your text. They not only correct spelling, grammar and punctuation, but also optimise the text flow, comprehensibility and linguistic elegance. In doing so, they take care to preserve your personal style and your voice as an author - you should remain recognisable, but in the best possible form.

Once this thorough revision is complete, you will receive your edited manuscript back in your desired format. Whether Word, OpenOffice, PDF or another format - we adapt to your needs. You will also receive a detailed editing analysis with specific suggestions for improvement. This analysis explains which changes have been made and why, what the strengths of your text are and where there may still be potential for optimisation.

Optional: If you want to make your own adjustments after reviewing the revision, you can edit the revised manuscript again and send it back to us. This flexibility ensures that you are satisfied with every detail before it enters the final phase.

Phase 3: Final typesetting

In the third phase, we transform your linguistically perfected manuscript into a professional, print-ready book. This phase is crucial for the visual and tactile impression of your work.

First, a final, thorough proofreading is carried out by the scribigo Textbuddy in combination with human expertise. Even the smallest errors that may have crept in are detected. Every letter and every punctuation mark is checked again to guarantee that there are no errors.

Afterwards the Professional typesetting with specialised typesetting software. This involves far more than just the arrangement of text on pages. Our experts take care of the optimal typography: the selection and size of fonts, line spacing, paragraph formatting, pagination, the placement of headings, footnotes and page numbers. They integrate your images, graphics and photos in the right places and ensure a harmonious, professional overall look.

Particular attention is paid to readability and aesthetics. Good typesetting is not noticeable to the reader - it simply makes for a pleasant, fatigue-free reading experience. We pay attention to cobblers and whores (typographical errors in page breaks), optimal word separation and a balanced typeface.

At the end of this phase, you will receive delivery of all final documents in the agreed formats. Your book is now ready for publication - professional, error-free and visually appealing.

Phase 4: Correction run

Even though we take the utmost care, we understand that you may want to make minor adjustments after receiving the final documents. That's why a free round of corrections for objective errors is included in the package. Objective errors are clear spelling, grammatical or typesetting errors that have been overlooked, as well as technical problems in the typesetting.

Should you require further changes - for example, because you want to reword, add to or shorten text passages - we offer additional correction rounds at a fair hourly rate of 65 euros. The minimum charge is one hour. This service gives you the flexibility to make adjustments even after the project has been completed without having to place a completely new order.

Our aim is for you to end up with a book that you are completely satisfied with and that you can proudly present to the public.

What you deliver to us

To ensure a smooth start to your book project, we need some documents and information from you:

Your manuscript: Provide us with your text in a common digital format. We accept practically all common formats such as Microsoft Word (docx), OpenOffice/LibreOffice (odt), PDF, Rich Text Format (rtf) and many more. If you use a more exotic format, simply contact us - in most cases we will find a solution.

Description of your wishes: Let us know what you have in mind for your finished book. Which edition format do you have in mind (paperback, hardcover, e-book)? Which page formats do you prefer? Do you have specific design preferences regarding fonts, layout or structure? The more precisely you describe your wishes, the better we can realise them.

Visual elements: If your book is to contain cover images, graphics, photos, illustrations or diagrams, please provide us with these in as high a resolution as possible. You can also provide us with any special fonts you would like to use. We will professionally integrate all visual elements into your book project and ensure that they are shown to their best advantage.

The more complete your documents are, the faster and more efficiently we can start work and the closer the end result will be to your original ideas.

What you get

At the end of our collaboration, you will receive a comprehensive package of professionally prepared documents that offer you maximum flexibility when publishing your book:

Prepared documents for your own further processing: You will receive your proofread and corrected manuscript in editable formats (e.g. Word or OpenOffice). You can edit, adapt or use these files for other purposes as required. You retain full control over your text.

You can send this document directly to a print shop of your choice or upload it to print-on-demand services such as Amazon KDP, BookRix, epubli or other platforms. The PDF fulfils all technical standards and quality requirements for professional book printing.

E-Book in the ePub format: For digital publication, you will receive your book as an optimised ePub. This standardised e-book format works on all common e-readers (Kindle, Tolino, Kobo, etc.) and can be easily published in online shops such as Amazon, Thalia, Apple Books and many others. The ePub is technically flawless and offers your readers a convenient digital reading experience.
